Description

Bagnena lies in the foothills of the Pratomagno mountains which run south from Florence to Arezzo. The area, known as the Casentino, is beautiful and unspoilt. Unlike the well-known Chianti district a few miles to the west, the Pratomagno is peaceful and does not suffer from a great influx of tourists.

<

The site of a medieval fortress, Bagnena has been re-built and modernised over the last 30 years and now offers approximately 6000 square feet of comfortable, contemporary living space within its traditional Tuscan structure

Special Interest

Arezzo`s greatest artistic treasure is the set of frescoes by Piero della Francesca called La Leggenda della Vera Croce, in the church of San Francesco. There are two wooded walks, one of about 30 minutes and another of up to 4 hours, winding through the Pratomagno forest, from which promontory Bagnena is situated.

How to reach there

f approached by the autostrada going south from Florence towards Rome, you turn off at the intersection after Firenze Sud and Inciza called Valdarno. Immediately after leaving the toll booth, turn right then in about 1 mile turn left into a town called Terra Nouva Bracciollini. Go around the town and follow a sign post, a few miles drive, to San Guistino Valdarno. Passing though San Guistino Valdarno, in about one mile, there is a left turn signposted to Talla.
